Friends of Bellport Bay Shellfish Restoration

High-five the @FriendsofBellportBay in their quest to plant shellfish in Bellport Bay and for their efforts to expand its sanctuary. They’ve planted over 2.5 million of these gnarly babies, that filter 50 gallons of water each daily, since 2015. It’s a concerted, multi-generational effort that includes @BrookhavenTown, Cornell Cooperative Extension and others.
