Book Talk at Rotary’s District 7255 Conference

Hello friends: I was honored to speak at Rotary’s District 7255 Conference that encompasses Rotary Clubs in Long Island, Brooklyn, Queens, Nassau and Suffolk. One hundred Rotarians across the district attended and I discussed my new book, “My Year With the Italian Girl.” The book’s impetus was a Rotary exchange student we hosted and I was asked to speak about our experiences hosting several in Rotary’s Youth Exchange Program. My fiction book encompasses a “what if a young exchange student from Catania, Sicily, who lives for a year with the local Bellport newspaper editor, teams up with the Black step caption for a regional competition.” The book by Solstice Publishing encompasses small town life, cultural inclusion diversity, Black history, acceptance, humor and chronicles an environmental concern. I was also honored with a Paul Harris Fellow and was among my Sayville Rotarians at Woodloch Resort in Hawley, Pennsylvania.
