Harts Tavern Evidence Found

A closer look at Hart’s Tavern’s exact location emerged last Monday when The Greater Patchogue Historical Society hired Premier Private Locating in Bohemia to find remnants of the historic tavern, written about by both George Washington and Thomas Jefferson as stops along their Long Island journeys in their diaries. Premier’s radar detection device did find consistent evidence of a structure at Lakeville Cemetery near Main Street several feet down.
